FG Gold is a transformational gold exploration and development company expediting the development of the Baomahun Gold Project, which is set to be the first large-scale commercial gold mine in Sierra Leone. The project is expected to contribute 9-10% of the country’s GDP and create 900 jobs.

  • Baomahun Gold Project covers an area of 124.3 km2 in the Kangari hills in Sierra Leone with vast untapped gold reserves. Mining Licence and Environmental Permits are granted, and FG Gold is advancing the construction of the project, with the first gold pour set for 2026.
  • The project is one of the largest gold development projects in Africa, with Ore Reserves of 30.4 MT grading 2.10 Au g/t for 2.04 Moz of contained gold and Mineral Resources of 89.7 MT grading 2.01 Au g/t for 5.81 Moz of contained gold, both reported in accordance with the JORC Code. The project has significant exploration upside, with only 1.5 km of the 16.2 km strike length of identified gold targets drilled so far.
  • Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) envisions an average annual production of 147 Koz of gold over a 12.5-year life of mine. The project features a conventional open pit mine, 22.9 km haul road, state-of-the-art 2.5 MTPA processing plant and gold smelting facilities, a hybrid power supply comprising 21 MW of HFO, 23.8 MWp solar and 13.8 MWh battery energy storage systems capacity, and a tailings storage facility.
  • FG Gold received strong support for project development from reputed financial institutions, including equity investment from Fundo Soberano de Angola (FSDEA), the sovereign wealth fund of Angola, and project financing from Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) and African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
